About the East Troy Computer Club

This club is about 13 years old now. Smaller meetups tend to take on a roundtable discussion format while larger turnouts or topics are more formal in presentation. Feel free to jump in on the conversation, or show & tell your latest project or most interesting puzzle.

Each meetup will have a theme and loose agenda to guide the group. Some will be geared towards kids, or helping grandparents out with getting their email to work. Others, and likely most consistently, we'll be a group of adults talking mostly about internet and hardware technologies. A little on the advanced side, but what better group of talented folks to serve as a backbone to a club such as this!

As we grow, certain interests or projects may branch out of this club, such as working with the Public Library and other facilities. We also have a GitHub organization: github.com/etcc.

Who Can Join?

Anyone, really

Kids figuring out their first project, grandparents getting comfortable online, hobbyists deep in a rabbit hole, professionals who want a low-pressure place to share—or folks just curious about how things work. Locals and visitors alike are welcome.

No prep required

You don't need a polished talk or a finished build. Jump into the conversation, bring a question, or show & tell whatever you're tinkering with. Mentorship here is informal: people help each other because that's the point.

Free to join

Membership is open to everyone, including a free tier, and meetups are free with a membership. Sign up when you're ready over on the membership page.

Get Involved

We meet when energy and topics line up. Cadence has been quiet lately, and that's okay—more gatherings are on the horizon.

The best way in is to become a member (free works fine) and keep an eye on upcoming meetups. When we gather, show up, listen, ask questions, or pitch a topic you'd like us to explore next.
